Hi! Nice to meet you.

My name is Leah.

I’m a product designer based in New York City who enjoys creating, both inside and outside the office. I’ve worked for startups in the fintech and healthtech spaces, and currently work at Ticketmaster on their app and ticketing experience.

When it comes to designing, I approach my process with an iterative mindset, constantly striving to refine and enhance products. My work revolves around two key priorities: advocating for the user experience and devising an effective and feasible solution for teams to implement. As a designer, I've had my fair share of moments where designs had to be scaled down due to budget, time, or implementation constraints (or a combination of all three). However, I always approach these challenges with enthusiasm and boundless optimism. Why? Because I firmly believe that each iteration brings me one step closer to creating an even better user experience.

My design philosophy has been significantly shaped by my prior experience in the fashion industry. After completing my BFA in Fashion (accessory design) from Parsons School of Design, I worked for a contemporary footwear brand in New York City. Here, I quickly realized my desire for a different path as I found myself dissatisfied with the fashion industry’s slow turnover, where products are designed for the following year without any opportunity for immediate customer feedback and product improvements.

At Parsons, I thrived in an environment that fostered relentless questioning and a commitment to seeking better solutions. As someone who has always focused on efficiency, my transition into the tech industry allowed me to blend my innate creativity with focused problem-solving. Today, I am constantly searching for solutions that save time and energy without sacrificing effectiveness, all while adhering to an iterative design process.

More about me

In-office 👩🏻‍💻

  • If your design consists of multiple layers, it can be challenging (and time-consuming) to select a specific element that’s buried layers deep. By holding Cmd + Click, you can select the innermost layer in just one click, eliminating the need to click numerous times to reach your intended layer.

Pro-tip: Once you’ve selected the innermost layer, you can navigate back one layer at a time by hitting Shift + Enter.

    You’re welcome.

  • In a collaborative setting, I strive to be a team player. I genuinely value the contributions and perspectives of each team member, and make it a priority to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas. While disagreements are a natural part of the collaborative process, I believe that this (when done respectfully and professionally) can spark special moments of creativity and growth. By embracing different perspectives and actively listening to one another, we have the potential to unlock new and innovative solutions that may have not been discovered when working alone.

  • Although there are many parts of the process that I enjoy, I’d have to say the one that excites me most is when there is an opportunity for user research. Whether I’m speaking with users in an interview or conducting a live usability test, this phase never fails to intrigue me. I find that it serves as a valuable "sense check" and consistently surprises me. Working with people is something I love to do, and chatting with users gives me the chance to connect with them on a deeper level. As a result, I’m able to be more empathetic toward their decisions and create designs that truly resonate and cater to their needs.

  • Lloyd’s Carrot Cake (99th and Lex)

This cake is incredibly moist, flavorful, and baked with love. The smooth (and not-too-sweet) cream cheese frosting can be enjoyed with or without nuts on top. Although a bit of a journey to get to, I can assure you that the commute is 100% worth it.
