What started as time-killing project during the 2020 COVID-19 quarantine, quickly turned into an exploration of a new medium and a determination to master a new skill.

Growing up in upstate New York, I was constantly inspired by my lush natural surroundings. Looking for new ways to use found objects was an old habit that proved useful during the long, stressful days of the pandemic. Walks in the park became an opportunity to collect fallen branches, soon transformed into intriguing, sturdy supports in my work. While macrame has always been something I have found visually enticing, I found that its repetitive, meditative nature was the soothing practice I was looking for.

While it is just the beginning of this new creative journey, I’m looking forward to exploring, experimenting, and finding my voice in this new medium.
